Frequently Asked Questions

Most students need a minimum of 10 hours of in-car lessons. However, the exact number depends on how comfortable you are behind the wheel and your understanding of defensive driving techniques, preventable collisions, traffic rules and regulations, and safe parking.

The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) requires at least 10 hours of in-car training as part of the 40-hour Beginner Driver Education (BDE) course. This ensures new drivers receive standardized, high-quality, hands-on experience before earning their licence.

This practical training is designed not just to help you pass the road test, but to prepare you for real-world driving situations.

No, you do not need any prior driving experience to begin driving lessons.

Certified instructors are trained to teach brand-new drivers from the very beginning. They will guide you step by step — starting with the basics and gradually building your confidence and skills.

In Ontario, after obtaining your G1 licence, you must wait a minimum of 8 months before you are eligible to take the G2 road test if you have successfully completed an approved Ministry driver education course. If you have not completed a certified driver education program, the required waiting period is 12 months. This time allows new drivers to gain valuable supervised driving experience and build confidence before advancing to the next stage of licensing.
We offer one-on-one lessons to provide personalized attention and respect student privacy. Lessons last 1–2 hours per day and include beginner skills like starting, stopping, and lane changes, highway and city driving, parking practice (parallel, angle, hill), mock exams for G2 or G test preparation, and tailored instruction based on the student’s skill level and goals.
If your G1 licence is still valid, you can retake the test. If your G1 has expired, you must start over and pay the test fees again. If your G2 licence is about to expire, you can retake the G1 road test to extend your G2 eligibility for an additional five years. Failing is common, and most students improve with extra lessons.
It is recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes early for check-in. If your test is the first of the day, arrive when the office opens. If you cannot attend, cancel at least 48 hours in advance to avoid losing your prepaid fees, with some exceptions applying.
Yes, weekend and evening lessons are available. Slots fill quickly, so it is recommended to book early to secure your preferred time.
If you notify us 24 hours in advance, there is no charge. For short notice or emergencies with a valid reason, we charge 50% of the lesson fee. This policy ensures fair scheduling and respects the instructor’s time.
Yes. We provide pick-up and drop-off for students within our service areas for convenience.
No. Examiners provide clear instructions. You are allowed to ask them to repeat instructions if you do not understand. Their goal is to assess safe driving, not to trick the student.
Typical mistakes include improper lane changes, merging onto highways too fast or too slow, not checking mirrors or intersections, vehicle issues such as faulty lights or worn tires. Not doing a complete stop on a red light for right turn.
Common mistakes include failing to yield the right of way, parking errors (parallel, angle, or back parking), driving too fast or too slow, ignoring traffic signs or signals, and unsafe lane changes or turns.
